Many touch screen displays these days are created using Corning’s patented Gorilla Glass, which is more durable than other displays, while maintaining clarity. In a not so surprising move, Corning announced that it will have Gorilla Glass 3 on display during CES 2013.
According to the teaser image, Corning reminds us that “Something tougher is coming,” which leads me to believe that the new glass technology is tougher than before and perhaps even clearer. We will have to wait until the official announcement during CES to learn just how much Gorilla Glass 3 is improved over Gorilla Glass 2.
The new glass technology will be found in television displays, Android smartphones, tablets, and other devices with touch screen displays.
