Nearly two weeks ago we were introduced to the Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE on Sprint, but we were not given an official launch date. Instead, Sprint simply stated information would be provided in a few weeks about its launch and price details.
Fortunately, a new report surfaced today claiming the Photon Q will launch on August 19 and that training for the device has already begun internally for Sprint. Pricing details are still unavailable at this time, but given the fact that it is a high-end slider QWERTY device, I imagine Sprint and Motorola will price the Photon Q between $149-$199 on a two year contract.
In terms of specs and features, the Photon Q boasts a 4.3 inch touch screen display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0, 4G LTE connectivity, 8MP rear facing camera that captures 1080p video, front facing HD camera for web conferencing, HDMI-out, and NFC connectivity.
If you are looking for a high-end QWERTY Slider phone, then the Photon Q is one of the best we’ve seen lately. As of now, August 19 is the target launch date, and should Sprint confirm or deny this information, we will let you know.
