Fans of Microsoft’s SkyDrive cloud storage solution are about to have another way to access their personal data. Coming in a few weeks, Microsoft will launch the official SkyDrive for Android app. If you enjoyed using SkyDrive on iOS or Windows Phone, then you will be happy to hear that Microsoft plans on implementing an identical design on Android consisting of the same core features.
In terms of functionality, the SkyDrive Android app will allow users to share stored files, upload new files, and browse through currently stored files. In addition, other apps become more powerful as you have the option to upload directly to SkyDrive from other Android apps. The image above is the projected SkyDrive UI when it launches in a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately, there is no word on which versions of Android are able to support SkyDrive. Stay tuned to the SkyDrive Twitter account (as well as Androinica!) to find out when the storage app will officially launch.
