According to a report by Asia Today, LG is preparing a new flagship Android smartphone known internally as the Optimus G. Should it launch within the next couple of weeks, LG will have a very strong device that can compete with the Galaxy S III and the new iPhone. As of now, the rumored Optimus G is expected to be announced during IFA 2012 later this month in Berlin.
Now, let’s get to the exciting part: the rumored features and specs. To begin, it features a 4.7 IPS True HD display, Android 4.0, 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE connectivity, 13MP rear facing camera, and Optimus 3.0 UI. It is also said to pack a quad-core processor, but the exact one isn’t listed. Preliminary rumors indicate it might be the quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and it could be the first quad-core 4G LTE device in the United States.
All in all, the Optimus G is shaping up to be a tremendous Android smartphone and is said to have the same kind of marketing prowess and global launch as the Galaxy S III. Here’s to hoping IFA 2012 sees the announcement of LG’s latest flagship beast.
