So it looks like today is the day everyone decided to officially get colorful with their Android phones. Following AT&T’s announcement that a red Galaxy S III will go up for pre-order July 15, Sprint has announced that will also be the date it begins selling a white version of the HTC EVO 4G LTE.

Sprint will sell the white EVO 4G LTE starting this Sunday at $199 on a two-year agreement. The EVO 4G LTE launched with a mostly black anodized metal casing with a glossy plastic portion on the top half of the phone, and the latest version appears to follow the same path. It still has an aluminum unibody design, but a silver kickstand replaces the red accent found on the original.

Otherwise, everything under the hood remains. You’ll get a 4.7-inch HD display, HTC Sense 4 with Android 4.0 ICS, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, and an 8-megapixel camera with some solid image processing software to take better photos. To make a long story short, the EVO 4G LTE is an awesome phone, and now you can get it in more than one color.

It’s good to see so companies straying from the standard black, gray, and silver options that have dominated the U.S. for so long. Now I just need to know who I talk to get my Galaxy Nexus in gold. Solid gold.
