Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket can be upgraded to Android 4.0 beginning today

The Android 4.0 update for the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is ready to go. The Skyrocket is similar to the original Galaxy S II but features LTE connectivity as one of its more notable differences. While the AT&T Galaxy S II has had Android 4.0 for a couple of weeks now, the Skyrocket is just getting started. As with any Samsung smartphone, owners of the Skyrocket will have to download and install Kies before upgrading their smartphone.
Details on how to perform the Android 4.0 upgrade can be found at the source link below. Samsung recommends performing a backup of your personal data before initiating the update as a safety precaution. Lastly, you need to be running stock firmware in order for the update to work effectively.
It’s nice to see AT&T and Samsung work together to produce Android 4.0 upgrades as quickly as possible. Earlier today we saw the Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note drop as well. Looks like AT&T customers are about to get friendly with Kies, whether it be for the Galaxy Note or Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

Samsung Galaxy S II can be upgraded to Android 4.0. It is amazing news for Samsung Galaxy S II. However, I am not sure whether the upgrade is free or not.
