One of the best features of Google+ is the ability to launch Hangouts — the neat video chatting service that connects up to ten friends. This isn’t Google’s first foray into the video communication business as Gmail has been utilizing peer-to-peer technology to facilitate video communication since 2008. However, Google will begin deploying Hangouts technology into Gmail starting today and will continue to roll-out to Gmail accounts over the next couple of weeks.
Within the Gmail video chat powered by Hangouts, users can engage in a conversation that includes nine other individuals, share screens, collaborate on documents, and watch YouTube videos. In my opinion, it is for the best since the Google+ Hangouts technology is much better.
