AOL music app Play launches on Kindle Fire

Play by AOL Music delivers thousands of songs and radio stations for anyone with an Android 2.1 or higher phone. The company announced today that it has extended that courtesy to tablets with the release of a version made specifically for the Kindle Fire. (Do not make a Play with Fire reference!)
Play for Kindle Fire delivers a new music app with multiple ways of enjoying music. The app lets customers listen to their own locally-stored music, a feed of free MP3′s, featured streaming, full CD’s of select groups, and more than 55,000 SHOUTcast Radio stations. It’s a blend of featured songs added to AOL Music, curated Internet radio stations, and personal music tastes to keep tunes going.
AOL built a pretty solid music app that doesn’t drastically alter the UI much, but it does expand the top navigation bar to have larger buttons spread out over the Kindle Fire’s 7-inch screen. Listeners can use that bar to get to the Home, Feed, Music, News, and Profile sections of the app. The bottom part of the navigation bar has a dedication Play button, share song title to Facebook/Twitter, and a shortcut to the Now Playing screen. The player is a very nice upgrade because of a light theme, large thumbnail, and big buttons for playback controls. This is not a scaled-up view of a phone app; it’s an app designed specifically for 7-inch screens.
