Max Payne has finally made its way to Android. Originally promised to be delivered in April before it faced a series of unexplained setbacks that delayed its release, Rockstar Games’ classic tale of Max Payne is available now for several Android 2.2+ devices.

Max Payne tells the story of a lawman who experiences a traumatic event that turns his world upside down. He then turns into a one-man wrecking crew as he tracks down the people who have ruined him and are in the process of ruining the lives of many more. The gritty third person shooter is inspired by noir style films and graphic novels and was a big success on PC’s and consoles years ago. Now the game is available for people looking to relive the experience on their mobile or never got around to discovering the game previously.

Android users can tack on the fugitive cop story and experience the classic bullet-time gameplay with new HD textures. The game looks noticeably better on NVIDIA Tegra 3 devices because it has been optimized for the enhanced lighting and filtering afforded by Tegra. However, you’ll need to set aside 1.33 GB of space to enjoy it because Rockstar/War Drum have included a huge amount of game data that has to be stored.

A complete list of the Android phones and tablets supported in Max Payne is available on Google Play. Here’s a list of some of the features included in the game.
