Toshiba Thrive

Even though we have had our fair share of deals and special offers involving Toshiba’s 10-inch Thrive tablet during the past couple of months, all of the discounts were of refurbished models of the slate. And no matter how much I personally trust the quality of a refurbished electronic product from one of today’s big companies, there’s simply no way you can compare such a device to a spanking brand new one.

Well, today, the guys at Buy.com come with one of the most pleasant surprises of late and offer the brand new 16 GB Toshiba Thrive for just 299.99 dollars. In addition to the 300 bucks you will have to pay for the actual device, there are also $11.70 shipping costs, but the total cost is still a very nice and tempting 311.69 dollars.

Just take a look at most of the online stores out there and you’ll see that it’s practically impossible to find the Toshiba Thrive for less than 400 bucks. On Amazon, for instance, the 10-incher still goes for 461.99 dollars, which is a whopping 150 bucks more than Buy.com’s offer today.

On the other hand, I know that most of you think of the Thrive as a tablet of the past, outdated and overshadowed by today’s (or rather tomorrow’s) quad-core slates running Ice Cream Sandwich. And while I can’t say that the Toshiba Thrive is unbelievably powerful or snappy compared to some of its competitors, I can guarantee you that for 300 dollars it will ‘’fulfill its duties’’.

We’ve talked so much about the Thrive on our website already that I don’t want to once again summarize all of the tablet’s tech specs and features, but you should know that the gadget comes with a 10.1-inch screen with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of on-board storage and the running of Android Honeycomb 3.1.

For a complete spec sheet, as well as a very comprehensive review, check out this article right here. However, if you are thinking of getting the tablet, don’t waste any time and hit the source link below, because the guys at Buy.com are not saying when the offer will expire, so it might happen any minute now.
