LG hasn’t exactly been top dog in the smartphone market during the past couple of years, but that might well change in the upcoming months. No less than three LG smartphones have been unveiled today and will most definitely be on display at the 2012 MWC in Barcelona next week.

The new LG line-up is set to satisfy all tastes and needs and includes a low-end, medium-end and possibly a high-end gadget. First up, the LG Optimus L3 is set to sport a 3.2-inch display with 320 x 240 pixels resolution and will run Android Gingerbread with probably no Ice Cream Sandwich update in store.

Even though we don’t have any more official information about the L3, unconfirmed rumors state that the 3.2-incher will feature a modest 3 MP rear-facing camera, WiFi and HSPA connectivity. There’s no mention anywhere about the smartphone’s processor (don’t hold your breath, though!), but as far as pricing goes, the LG entry-level gadget should be made available for around 190 dollars.

The Optimus L5 mid-range handset should run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box (hooray!) and will sport a 4-inch screen with ‘’enhanced readability’’, according to the LG’s marketing team. I’m not sure what that means, but I personally would expect a decent resolution.

Last, but not least, the Optimus L7 is set to be LG’s frontrunner this year, but for the time being, we don’t know how close will it be to Samsung’s or HTC’s high-end smartphones. What we do know is that the L7 will sport a 4.3-inch display and will of course run Android ICS. No words about the hardware, but a dual-core processor is a must, while a quad-core would be a very nice surprise.

All three LG smartphones feature pretty much the same elegant and fashionable design, with one physical button on the bottom, a metallic feel and nice rounded edges. They also look very thin and compact in the first official photos released by the Korean manufacturer, but for the time being we have no idea exactly what they will weigh and measure.

Stay tuned on Androinica.com in the next few days, because more details are set to unravel as we are getting closer and closer to this month’s most important event in the mobile world, the Barcelona MWC.
