After the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Asus Transformer Prime being made available earlier than we had hoped, owners of the original Eee Pad Transformer tablet started dreaming of receiving ICS these days as well.

While we can’t say we have the best news for all you Ice Cream Sandwich cravers out there, we finally have (sort of) an official date for the Asus Transformer update. This unfortunately won’t happen during these coming days, but, according to official statements from Asus, cited by Androidpolice, will be live and up for grabs by early February.

The update, once again according to official statements, will occur first in North America and Taiwan, with all the rest of the Transformer users around the world receiving the update by the end of February.

Well, as I already told you, it’s not the best news I could have given you, but it’s not the worst either, considering that most Android tablets today don’t have an Ice Cream Sandwich update coming or at least they haven’t made it official just yet.

I guess it’s useless to call out for patience from Transformer adopters, as it seems you won’t have a choice but wait it out for at least a couple of weeks more. Or you can get your hands on a Transformer Prime, the first tablet to receive a working Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update just a couple of days back.

Also, you can still get an Asus Eee Pad Transformer from most of today’s online stores if you haven’t purchased it yet and, considering the recent discounts and this announced update, you will get a pretty nice overall deal!
