Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 introduces the first Super AMOLED+ Honeycomb tablet

The lesson of the Android tablet wars has so far been that doing something different is the best way to get noticed. Whether it’s through add-ons, price, or slimness, the most popular models are the ones that are distinctive. Samsung may have found a new way to get an advantage: superior display.
At the IFA tech conference, Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy Tab 7.7 Honeycomb tablet that has a 7.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus display. While most tablets on the market have an LCD touchscreen, the Tab 7.7 will offer the vibrant colors and contrast at which Super AMOLED Plus excels. The WXGA resolution, 7.89 mm thinness, and light weight (335 grams/12 ounces) will make this tablet as pretty as it is portable.
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 has TouchWiz UX and the Live Panel system that we recently reviewed on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The difference here is that the 7.7 model has a more up-to-date Android 3.2 that supports its smaller screen size and a new processor. There’s no word yet on who makes the processor, but it’s a dual-core 1.4 GHz chip that should be more than capable of handling whatever users throw at it.
Samsung has also included voice and video calling support, as well as its Samsung Hub for books, games, and music. However, both calling and Hub services may vary by region, so what works in one country may not work in another. Here’s a list of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 specs.
