Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is Android, music, and social wrapped-up in one

August 22, 2011 | by Andrew Kameka

Sony lost the digital music player wars when its Walkman line failed to conquer the iPhone. But the Walkman brand is still active and being applied to the Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman, a new Android phone with a focus on social networking and music playback.

The Sony Ericsson Live features a Walkman hardware button that launches the device’s music player, which Sony has customized to have more sorting and control options. The Live also has xLOUD technology for higher quality audio levels in the devices’ speakers, TrackID to identify songs played in the music or FM radio apps, and Qriocity, the music and video service run by Sony.

There’s also a “perfect combination of social networking and music entertainment,” according to Sony Ericsson. Though that’s a bit overzealous, the company says it has “deep Facebook integration” that can quickly access the social networking site from common areas like the photo gallery, music player, and calendar. The Live also has Sony Ericsson’s Timescape components for integrated contact info, content search, Twitter, and more.

The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is powered by a 1 GHz processor, has a 3.2 inch touchscreen, 5 MP camera with autofocus, frontfacing camera for Skype video calling, and Android 2.3. Read the specs below to find out more information on the device.
