The Sweet Nectar of the Gods is part of your required morning routine, and the Starbucks Android app has finally arrived to make it easier to get that caffeine jolt each day.
The Starbucks Android app is available for Android 2.1+ phones. Just like the iPhone version that has proven so popular, Starbucks allows users to pay for coffee using an Android phone. Tell the barista how you want that special brew combination that takes 10 minutes to describe, and then place your HTC EVO in front of a scanner, and the money will be deducted from a Starbucks card.
Caffiends can also manage their Starbucks account directly within the app. Once a Starbucks Card number is added, users can view transaction history, track progress in the rewards program, and add more money to the account using a major credit card. Starbucks for Android can then locate the nearest 7,800 locations that someone can use their card. But to be honest, I don’t see the point of that. Everyone knows that to locate the nearest Starbucks, just take a right, another right, another right, and then choose any of the three Starbucks on your block.
Like any new Android app, there may be some problems depending on what phone you’re using. It also requires a U.S. phone number, Starbucks store credit cards are not compatible, and users can only load one card per device.
