Since April 2011, new emails have touched off moments of pandemonium at Androinica HQ. I have five – count ‘em, five – Android phones linked to the same Gmail account, so hearing them all play notification sounds at the same time drives me crazy. But you know what’s even crazier? I honestly couldn’t tell you which of those five phones is the best.
The great thing about Android is that a new phone comes out every other week. The not-so-great thing about Android is that with each new phone, there’s always that one important flaw that keeps you from getting it. Maybe it’s the lack of a physical keyboard or an outdated version of Android, but something keeps you from pulling the trigger to upgrade.
As I look at the phones that have recently been in my possession – HTC EVO 4G, Motorola Atrix 4G, Samsung Droid Charge and Infuse 4G, and Sony Ericsson Xperia Play – I tried to compose a wishlist for my next device. There are certain must-haves that I will not surrender: the phone must have a great camera, support for whatever brand of 4G that carrier offers, a dual-core processor, an unlocked bootloader, and battery life no worse than I currently experience. I’d prefer if it also has a front-facing camera, a slim build, supports MHL, QWERTY keyboard, and Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), but I’m willing to give up any of those features.
How about you? I’m looking to clear-out some of the Android collectibles that you all seem to love, so I figure that I might as well reach out to the Androinica community and see what phone has you salivating. Below is a video expounding on the difficulties of finding a new phone and explaining how you can win any of the collectibles shown in the video. Watch the video and leave your comment here or on YouTube (brownie puts if you Like the video or subscribe to our channel) and I’ll select random winners to receive a free collectible.
