It wasn’t too long ago that the “unnamed Samsung 4G” device became the Droid Charge, and now it has an official release date. According to a press release from Samsung, the Droid Charge will be available in Verizon stores and online on April 28th. Just one more week until Verizon’s LTE Android lineup doubles to two phones.
The phone stacks up fairly well against what is quickly becoming last generation hardware with a 1 GHz single-core Hummingbird CPU, 512 MB RAM, and 512 MB ROM, but also packs a decidedly current gen 4.3″ Super AMOLED Plus screen, 8 MP rear cam, and 1.3 MP front cam.
Unfortunately, it looks like the leaks were true, and the 2-year contract price for the Charge will be $300. Although Samsung is putting on a scavenger hunt in 16 cities if you want a chance to win a Charge.
What do you guys think? Is it worth it?
