The new web-based Android Market is now live
February 2, 2011 | by Lars Aronsson
Android, Google Android
Google’s big Honeycomb event at the company’s headquarters in Mountain View is going on right now, and you can watch it live at youtube.com/android. It has been speculated that one of the things Google was going to announce at the event, was a new web-based Android Market that among other things would let us push apps straight to our phones and tablets.
That rumor turned out to be true, and at the time of writing Google is presenting the new Market. I naturally couldn’t resist visiting the same URL as the presenter at the Honeycomb event, and the new desktop version of the Android Market turned out to work just fine.
You need to log in with your Google account in order to purchase apps, but I have unfortunately not been able to successfully log in yet. Hopefully you’ll have better luck. If you want to take a look at the new web-based Android Market, head to market.android.com and check out all the new exciting features yourself.

I'm getting an invalid request also when I try and log in to android market web store
Geez, Google – hire some designers. That page looks like something from 1998.
I have the same problem invalid request. I used Chrome too so big g has no excuse.
Yeah, Epic fail they set up a page and you can't login. . .
So we cant use the cool features
Ouch, the design is a bit weak and i cannot sign in. I'm retardedly in love with good and android. but this is an epic fail.
I still get the same log-in error. Haven't made up my mind regarding the new look yet, but at least it's better than the old design. Perhaps we need an updated version of the Market on our phones before we can push apps to them? Or maybe it'll just take a few hours before Google gets the new Market website up and running properly.
I just want the ability to FILTER (aahhh!!!!) The new market is genius / needed / long overdue….
But… When we search something…. like "fitness" for example, I still just want to see the highest rated! -not scroll through dozens and dozens of apps! I just want to see, "What __________ app (fitness / tip / location) is everyone saying is the best?"
Ok. I can see from the posts that the "invalid request" error is happening to pretty much everyone. Anyway the website just went up so most probably later today or tomorrow everything will be in order. I saw the live web cast and I agree. I think they need to improve their web design a bit more.. There is strong competition and to many people the first impression really count a lot. I wouldn't be surprised Microsoft pulling something similar to the web based Android market this year. Anyway this is great news for Android users and yet another advantage Android has.
Its up and working now, i could not log in before now i can.
Can login now and it can detect your device but fails to install from your computer to your phone.
Allways comes back with an error or retry later, kinda pointless because by the time you install it from your pc you could have just found it via market on the phone and installed it by now.
i don't see the live on youtube.com/android , where is it?
Its ended it was at 6PM gmt for an hour.
Right tried to remote install 7 apps, and all appear in my store account but none installed on my phone.
Totally useless site if you ask me, they waisted their time on this Fluff
