The flyers have been out for quite a while putting the Motorola Xoom tablet at $799 unsubsidized through Verizon, but that price has finally been confirmed. Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha confirmed the pricing today, but in a surprise, he also confirmed that there will be a WiFi-only model which would cost “around $600.”

There is no word on whether the WiFi only model would be launching at the same time as the 3G version, or if it would be coming later. But, I’m sure I speak for many of us here at Androinica as well as our readers in saying that a WiFi only model is an extremely welcome development. Certainly, that makes me much more likely to consider picking up a Xoom.

The iPad charges a $130 premium for their 3G models; so, the question still remains though: is a $200 premium plus a data contract worth it for the 3G/4G model Xoom?
