Google I/O 2011 Registration now open [UPDATE: SOLD OUT!]
February 7, 2011 | by Andrew Kameka
And just like that, they were all gone. Google I/O sold out in 59 minutes according to Vic Gundotra. Hope you all managed to get in. Here is the original story

Google’s annual developer conference is currently selling early-bird tickets for $450, and academia tickets for students or faculty for $150. If you have any desire to attend, I strongly advise that you purchase one right now. Stop reading this and go register before it’s too late. (Servers are returning errors, so refresh and try again if you can’t get through).
I/O 2010 sold out before Google even finished early-bird sales, and I/O 2011 is likely to reach capacity in even less time. Set to take place May 10 and 11 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, Google I/O 2011 will be a showcase for Google’s many initiatives. The event features special track sessions to help developers, workshops, product demo’s, and keynotes to announce changes to popular products like Android and Chrome.
This year, I expect to hear big things from Android tablets, Google TV, and Chrome OS. GTV debuted last year but has yet to catch on, so Google could use it as a launching point for a refresh or major upgrade like the Android Market. An early list of sessions includes developing web or Android apps for GTV. (see I/O 2011 Sessions List)
If you thought about developing for Android and want to get some first-hand knowledge (and maybe some swag) from Google, sign-up for I/O now.

I got in! Had to constantly refresh the browser after getting tons of 503 errors, but I got my confirmation email.
I'll be hoping to pick up a ticket closer to the event because someone has to cancel their trip – they always do. There are some benefits to living in SF

I never got through the front door to the point where I could fight through the additioanl 503 errors. Still peeved about it, I had money set aside and everything for a 3 day SF excursion. :
