ViewSonic goes from tablet to phone with ViewPad 4

Viewsonic has already released an Android tablet, and its now entering the phone market. Expanding on the company’s experience in visual displays, ViewSonic is releasing the ViewPad 4, a phone with “tablet power.”

The ViewPad 4 has a 4.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with WVGA resolution. Inside the device is a Qualcomm MSM 8255 1 GHz chip, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and HD 720p video recording, and HDMI output. Other common features like GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, and 802.11 b/g/n/ Wi-Fi are also present.

Pricing will vary among carriers when the ViewPad 4 goes on sale in mid 2011. Press shots of the device reveal that the phone features a boxy, rectangular slab with Back, Menu, Home, and Search buttons. The left and right sides of the phone have rounded edges.
