This Monday, Andrew wrote about Vizio’s upcoming Android powered handset that is simply dubbed the Vizio Phone. Vizio is a California-based company primarily known for making HD television sets, and its smartphone will have a built-in IR blaster which allows the device to be used as a universal remote control.
The device will also rock a 4-inch FWVGA touchscreen, a 1GHz+ processor, dual cameras, and 4GB onboard storage. Of course, the Vizio Phone will feature HD playback with HDMI output as well — after all, it’s an Android from a TV manufacturer.
Engadget had the chance to get some time with the Vizio Phone, and they seemed fairly impressed by it, calling the device “handsomely and thoughtfully designed.” Hit play on the video below to take a look at Vizio’s custom Android UI, including a redesigned notification bar that categorizes the notifications.
