Spoiler alert; the Meizu M9 is a China only phone, for the time being. Having said that, today we finally got to see some specs for the infamous Meizu M9 Android device as the official site launched. With the specs list we also got a possible ship date of December 26th in major cities in China with the whole country to soon follow.
The M9 hosts a 960×640 3.5-inch display, a 1Ghz processor (the same as the Samsung Hummingbird), microSD slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, and support for most of the world bands including GSM, EDGE, GPSRS, WCDMA, HSDPA, and HSUPA. The phone features Android 2.2 and as of now no real word on the memory included. The M9 pretty much looks exactly like an iPhone with a couple of capacitive buttons around the main button.
Something that strikes me is that the interface looks very MIUI-ish (MIUI is a popular Android ROM). We know that MIUI actually looks more iPhone-ish rather than it being its own thing, but we can’t help noticing the similarities of the lock screen and the font choices.
The M9 looks to be a pretty sweet device, now it just needs to be released so we can actually see it in real life, not just promo shots.
