One gets 2.5 million hits in return when Googling “game dev story”, and that’s a pretty strong indication of this game’s popularity. Game Dev Story is an iOS game about working in the video game industry, and now the developer Kairosoft has launched an Android version of its hyped title.
Game Dev Story has a rather unique topic for a mobile game, since it lets you manage a team of video game developers and handle all the tasks that come with the job. From the Market description:
“Manage your own game company and try to create a million-selling game in this unique simulation. Your staff members can have a variety of game-related professions, from programmer to sound engineer.”
The game doesn’t seem to be utilizing the entire screen estate, but that shortcoming will hopefully be taken care of in a later update. One teary-eyed commenter at AppBrain stated that the game left him “speechless” and that he “stayed up until 4am last night, then played all day today.” Can you get a better review than that? Game Dev Story can be yours for $4.80.

Bought this game today, I ran my galaxy S dry because I couldn't put it down. This is my new top addicting game on android
I love this game. I've been playing it over and over and I'm having a hard time putting it down as well. I find that I'm telling myself, let me just finish making this one game and then I can go to bed. Once that finishes, then I'm saying, let's just see how well it sells. Then … let's see if I won an award! Arrgh! Love it!
