T-Mobile UK: Sony Xperia X10 and X10 Mini Pro Eclair update coming by end of November
October 14, 2010 | by Andrew Kameka
Firmware updates, Sony Mobile
The Sony Ericsson Android 2.1 saga has been eventful, speaking in mild terms. T-Mobile UK has just announced that its part in that saga will come to end next month when it pushes out an over the air update to its customers that use the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 or X10 Mini Pro.
In its support forums, T-Mobile UK revealed that it has a scheduled release “by the end of November” that will upgrade its customers from Android 1.6 (Donut) to Android 2.1 (Éclair). T-Mobile will notify customers via text message when the update is available.
It’s disappointing to know that Sony Ericsson is not delivering Froyo to its customers, but the upgrade to Éclair will at least open up those devices to new features and compatibility with more apps. X10 and X10 Mini Pro users can cross their fingers and start the countdown.

This is getting stupid. I got my x10 expecting the increased performance boost that eclair would bring. Out of the box its kind of just an ok phone.
When you see S-E’s Eclair, you won’t want it. It’s stuffed full of bloatware. I know because I worked on it
S-E are going to skip Froyo and upgrade direct to Gingerbread.
It's absolutely shameful that sony doesn't support the ota update on the xperia; this leave out all the linux and mac users!
only x10 and mini pro, not on mini?
This is such bullshit, i have waited so long for 2.1 to drop but now i have to wait another month, last time i ever buy a sony ericsson
Will never ever buy a SE phone again.
Sony you deserve to fail, your customer service used to be second to none, now you near the bottom for customer satisfaction.
I will be selling my SE phone just to get rid of the damn thing, all because sony would not update the software.
Pathetic! By the time I receive the update for this phone my other half will have upgraded his contract and will be getting another iphone for me! My X10 is ridiculously slow, loses connectivity constantly…even to my router and I was hoping the update would sort it…I shalln’t hold my breath! I too shall not be buying another phone from them and have already recommended several others steer well clear of this one!!
