You probably don’t have a rotating carousel of clothes like Alicia Silverstone in Clueless, but you can get the next best thing in app form. Gap StyleMixer can act as a digital closet, storing tops, pants, and accessories that can be mixed and matched to decide what you’ll wear that day.
Style Mixer works for frequent Gap shoppers and those who favor other outlets. Users can browse through tops, jeans, shorts, dresses, jackets, and shoes sold by Gap, and then combine each with other items into an outfit. These are then stored in a Closet with tags or notes that users can edit. Or if you want to take complete control, snap a photo of your wardrobe and use the Mixer to manage it.
Aside from helping select outfits, StyleMixer also serves as a way to purchase clothes as well. Customers can shop for gender-specific clothes directly within the app. And if someone opts for the old-school method of getting new gear, use the Gap Finder to map nearby Gap locations. This app is disappointingly slow at times, but is overall useful for people who want to know what to wear before digging through their closet. The app is available for free in the Android Market.
