As I sit here pulling out hairs dealing with my always-stressful local cable monopoly, I got a peculiar gift in my inbox.
Facebook has invited us to an event at their headquarters next week. Facebook has hosted dozens of events since Androinica.com debuted two years ago and we’ve never gotten a nod. Why did they suddenly hit us up? A quick scan of the web and Gmail and our Android blogging buddies have received similar invitations.
So what do you think is going on? Your guess is as good as mine because I’m at a loss. The invitation shows two cans with strings, the old-time way that kids communicated with each other. Is Facebook simplifying the way that we connect with friends in mobile, announcing the fabled Facebook phone, or just adding a “social layer” to Android like CEO Mark Zuckerberg told Tech Crunch when those rumors first started?
