Android Hacks

One of the coolest and best things that you can do to a rooted Android phone is install custom kernels and overclock the CPU to achieve faster processing speeds. Just the other day the G2 got its own impressive overclocking treatement, but we couldn’t possibly leave the newest generation of the DROID family out of the pomp and circumstance could we?

It appears from the video below and from some forum discussion that Team DeFuse has acheived and is working on a kernel to get 2Ghz speed on the DROID X and the DROID 2. It looks like they can get the processor running that fast, but to consider it stable may be a overstatement as in the video the performance seems choppy. But, like with any good hacking team, we are sure that with a little more work and some Red Bull, DROID X / 2 users will be able to turn their DROIDs into devices hot enough to cook their breakfast.

Check out the video below and head on over to the forums to see what the buzz is about.
