Angry Birds lands in Android Market

I still have absolutely no idea what the heck is Angry Birds or why this game is so popular. But you people keep talking about it and it’s one of the biggest games on that other platform, so I have to believe that people want to know about it. So, here it is once again: Angry Birds is in the Android Market.

You may experience some problems attempting to download Angry Birds Lite depending on your phone version. The app requires Android 2.x so anything pre 2.0 is out of luck. I’m unable to get it to appear on my Froyo-running EVO, but it comes up on the Éclair-running Charm I’m testing. I’m sure that this is a debut hiccup of the developers trying to make the switch to the Android distribution method. This is just a beta after all.

So download the app and see what all the fuss is about. That’s what I’ll be doing shortly.

Game runs great on my N1 2.2. Love this game!. Just wish there were more quality games like this in the Market. Can't wait for the full version!

I must correct you. It works on Android 1.6 devices. Angry Birds runs fine on my Xperia X10.

Runs good, albeit a bit slow and laggy on my rooted G1. The buttons are kind of squished and hang off the screen since it seems to have been designed for MDPI devices, but still, it works! No complaints from me. My recent post Why Im excited about the G2
