Music video website VEVO has made the jump from the desktop to the mobile world today with the launch of an iPhone app. You probably don’t care about that since you probably don’t own an iPhone.
But if you’re one of the 50 million people who visit VEVO every day, you’ll be interested in reading this little nugget placed at the end of VEVO’s announcement of the new iPhone app:
PS. We are also working on VEVO for iPad and wanted to take the time to make it extra special so we hope to bring it to you as soon as possible. VEVO for Android and other mobile platforms are also in the works so stay tuned.
VEVO is the fifth most popular website, attracting users who want to watch music videos. Yes, they still make videos even though MTV only shows them about 20 minutes per week. VEVO has more than 20,000 videos, including some that are exclusive to the site. The iPhone app has charts, playlists, artist information, discovery, and sharing features, all of which are likely to appear in the Android version.
We’ll keep an eye out for more information when the Android app is ready for release.
