AT&T has the iPad, Verizon has the Galaxy Tab? That’s the way things appear based on rumors coming out of BGR. A trusted source of BGR sent the website a screenshot of a list of Verizon inventory that includes Item ID “SCHI800BDU” and description “SAM GALAXY TAB DEMOS.” Looks like Big Red is getting Samsung’s upcoming Android tablet.
Teased for several days in leaks and spy images, the world will get its first official look at the Tab this week when Samsung shows it off at the IFA Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin. The Galaxy Tab is expected to come with a strong Hummingbird processor and unique features to distinguish it from similar devices.
The Galaxy Tab wil be an always-on communication device if it comes to Verizon. The tablet runs a customized version of Android with TouchWiz user interface and includes phone capabilities as well as the standard browsing features. It will be interesting to see what kind of monthly plans Verizon makes available with the device.
