The rumor of the HD Desire broke over the weekend and now Engadget has gotten their mitts on some fancy new video. This time in a high quality way. The rumored specs are not extremely impressive as the phone is just a newer looking HTC EVO (and in my opinion, better looking) but it’s always good to have another contender in the superphone race.
The phone is rumored to have a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor (think EVO/Incredible), 4.3″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen, of course has Sense UI on board, 8MP camera with 720p video capture, dual LED, Android 2.2, and 4GB of internal storage. Engadget believes we’ll see this phone around October which means that there is still plenty of time for any last minute changes. The Desire HD was also rumored to have a “unibody” aluminum design and from the video you can see that the phone has a brushed aluminum look, but also has some sort of plastic or other material on the back covering what seems to be the antennas. Pay attention, Apple.
There is absolutely no word on where and exactly when the HD will be coming to a town near you, but if I had to put my money on the “where” portion of the rumor I would say that this just might be the European version of the HTC EVO, of course sans 4G.
