Adobe has worked hard to get both Flash and AIR onto capable Android handsets. One half of that equation is already underway for devices like the Nexus One and HTC EVO, but the full effort won’t be complete until the end of the year when AIR becomes available on Android.

The news about AIR came from the Flash Summit today in San Francisco. I was unfortunately unable to attend, but our friend Phil Nickinson at AndroidCentral was there and he managed to get some info about what we can expect from AIR. Developers will have more tools to port their apps to Android, and we will see it incorporated into web apps. There’s no word yet if the delivery method will be an OTA update or Market download.

Phil was able to grab a video of a sort demo of what’s capable in AIR. Here’s a look at what we can expect when it’s finally released this year.
