This is still in the rumor stage but if true, and that’s a big if, it would be quite a move for T-Mobile. According to a leaked script sent to TmoNews, the much ballyhooed mystery event set to take place June 19th at T-Mobile will be a promotion to give free phones to customers.
According to the supposed leaked documents, June 19th will be the day that anyone who walks into a T-Mobile store and signs-up for a new family plan contract will get that device at no direct cost. All the folks eyeing a myTouch slide or Motorola Cliq XT will be able to walk out of the store without dropping a dime according to the script for a television commercial promoting the sale.
Again, this is still a rumor and could prove to be false, a hoax, or just something that was proposed but shot down by T-Mobile’s higher-ups. If true, it will make for one heck of a Father’s Day present. Here’s the script in question. Click the image to expand
