So, you bought the DROID because it was a “Google Experience” device, huh? Not really getting the same type of “Google Experience” that the chosen Nexus One is with the upgrade to Android 2.2, are you? Well today may be the day to get your mits on the latest Android update, Froyo.
Looks like the smart guys and gals over at My Droid World put together and released the first 2.2 ROM for the Moto DROID. They give a step-by-step process of how to install it, and just to let you know your will end up rooting your device (breaking warranty) and losing Wifi as support isn’t included in the open kernel they used. Besides that the process seems to look pretty standard if you are into the ROM changing.
So, if you can’t wait for big Moto and Verizon (mostly Verizon) to get the over-the-air update to your DROID then head over to the forum and check it out. Remember, there is always a risk with the sort of thing, even though the Moto DROID is pretty darn hard to brick. Let us know how it goes, will you?
