Yesterday we saw Cellular South launch a mini promotional site that teased of the release of “a whole new lineup of Android smartphones.” Furthermore they stated that “they will have features that will change smartphones forever.” Of course, we take that last statement as something meant to tease those not already in the know with Android, but the site also made mention of one being a “very special phone,” one that would be “a true game-changer.”
Wow, all of that sounds so nice. But what do we know about Cellular South and Android. So far they are offering the HTC Hero, which happens to be priced at $99.99 and being offered as a buy-one-get-one deal. But that aside, we have also seen that they have plans to launch the HTC Desire, which was revealed by way of Facebook.
Otherwise, it becomes guessing time, you can see the phone in the image covered by the fancy red sheet — but what could it be. It does not appear to be the Desire, but it could be a Motorola Milestone. That said, I am not sure I would consider the Milestone a game changer. Still, even if that is correct, it is nice to see a carrier getting so excited about Android releases.
Any guesses as to what the game changing device could be?
