Verizon Droid Eris 2.1 update: It may be coming today (May 11, 2010)

The latest in the Droid Eris Android 2.1 story implies that the update may be rolling out sometime today. This bit comes courtesy of a leaked internal memo that clearly states “this firmware patch is tentatively scheduled to roll out to Droid Eris handsets beginning on 5/11/2010.” Of course, there is that word, tentatively. And because of that we may or may not see it arrive today. One thing I can say for sure though, there are likely plenty of Droid Eris users that will be constantly checking today and having a Droid Eris in hand I will be included in that group. Here is to hoping it arrives today, as it was tentatively scheduled.

Still nothing – guessing it's not happening today?
I got it. Saw a notification on my phone late Tuesday night, so I downloaded it, which took FOREVER. I do LOVE the update, however, beware that any of your customizations will be gone after the update. So make a mental note of your scenes, so they will be easy to recreate. Also, I've found that my battery is dying SUPER QUICKLY now, but I haven't found anyone else with the update, so I don't know if it's happening to everyone. Let me know if it happens to any of you!
I have also had that problem of my battery dying really quickly as soon as i downloaded the update. Is there a way to fix this not-so-minor inconvenience?
