Rumor: HTC Desire heading to TELUS as HTC Triumph

Canada was late to the Android party, but they’ve already caught up to the Yankees. In one regard, they’re actually passing us.

TELUS is adding to its Android offering by bringing the HTC Desire to Canada as the HTC Triumph. The device is rumored to debut sometime this summer – perhaps July – and include many of the specs already seen in the HTC Desire: Android 2.1, 3.70inch AMOLED touchscreen, 1 GHz Snapdragon process, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash, etc. etc.

MobileSyrup received a tip revealing that the Desire will be coming to TELUS. Price hasn’t been disclosed yet, but if recent phones are any indication, it’ll cost $150 to $199 with a 3-year agreement.

The Desire has been crudely called a Nexus One with Sense on it because the phones share practically near-identical specs. If you haven’t already picked up a Nexus One and find the Desire more appealing for whatever reason, look out for more information on this device soon.
