Pandigital Novel Android reader coming next month for $199.99

Still not convinced by the Barnes & Nobel Nook or Spring Design Alex ereaders? There’s another Android-based tablet design for reading books, only this time it’s a 7-inch color multimedia display rather than an e-ink reader.

The Pandigital Novel has Wi-Fi connectivity, access to the B&N eBookstore, and a full-color TFT LCD display for reading magazines and books alike. The Android-based reader has an 800×600 resolution, the ability to display photo albums, watch video, and browse the web. All of this is comes with reading-aides like text highlighting, note-taking, bookmarking, changing font size, word search, and a built-in dictionary.

The Novel will be sold in U.S. retail locations next month for $199.99 MSRP.

I’m a little hesitant about buying this because Pandigital is a digital photo frame maker, and I’ve never been a fan of those devices. I’ll reserve judgment until I’m able to hold this in my hand.
