Accessories will likely be plentiful for a phone as popular as the HTC EVO 4G, however its nice to be getting a little sneak peak at one. The accessory I am referring to is the HDMI dock and it appears as if it will be available at Best Buy. Though it seems likely to believe it will come available with other retailers as well.
The dock is simple looking, just a small square that allows the phone to sit in, but it will support the HDMI 1.4 standard, as well as being backward compatible.
As of now a price has not been mentioned, and as you can see from the Best Buy flyer image, the dock is still only listed with a coming soon description.
Of course, before we get super excited about taking advantage of the HDMI out, it seems that PC Mag has just offered up some thoughts after finding an available microHDMI cable.
“Overall, we were quite disappointed with the HDMI experience on the Sprint EVO 4G. It’s unclear why you can’t view a wider range of content on the big screen – everything should get piped through this video out. More content should play in full screen, too. Hopefully future software updates will improve this function.”
