Some companies like to dangle carrots in front of users about what phones they will offer; others like to flat-out deny everything until the official press debut event. Then there’s Cellular South, who likes to cryptically out their upcoming lineup with a long tweet spelling things out:
Many of you have asked, “What’s next for Android?”
It won’t be long now.
Look out for an announcement very soon.
Everyone is going to be excited when they see what’s next.
Sorry we can’t tell you the name of the phone just yet.
There’s one thing we can tell you, though.
Once you’ve seen what this phone can do, you’ll be amazed.
Now, stay tuned.
Everyone will know eventually, but you’ll hear it here first.
While, they can’t tell us what’s next for Android, they can release a message that shows each line spelling out Milestone, aka the previous name for the non-U.S. version of the Droid. Cellular South will carry the phone under the Milestone banner since the Droid branding is an exclusive to Verizon via a licensing deal with George Lucas.
