Android 2.2 home screen briefly spotted in Flash demo video

Android 2.2 can’t come soon enough as far as many Nexus One users are concerned. Sure, everyone is waiting on 2.2, but recent history shows that there’s no guarantee anyone other than Nexus One owners will quickly see it after Google I/O.

Impatient Android users may have inadvertently spotted their first glimpse of Android 2.2 in a video by Adobe evangelist Ryan Stewart. Aside from showing off how well Flash performs on sites like Google Finance, CBS videos, and NHL, Stewart shows what looks to be the next version of Android’s homescreen. At the end of Stewart’s video, this image comes up:

This is rumored to be Android 2.2. The new homescreen would include a redesigned search widget, a new launcher, and a tutorial for new arrivals. Throw in built-in Flash support expected to come with 2.2 and the suggestion that a Froyo statue has arrived at the Googleplex, we may be in for some exciting times next week.
