Android 2.2 definitely coming soon; Google orders up their Froyo treat

It appears that Google’s Froyo treat sculpture is making it’s way to the Google Campus and it got caught on video. If you were wondering exactly when Android 2.2 (codenamed Froyo) was dropping for developers and OEMs, it may not be long now, especially with Google I/O coming next week and the addition of the beautiful, frozen yogurt sculpture to the Googleplex lawn.

This is silly, but I have to comment. The detail on this sculptor is pretty amazing and it make me wonder how much Google pays for these sort of things. It is an extremely “inside baseball” type of thing to purchase a sculptor of your mobile operating system version codename that no normal consumers knows or even cares about, but to Google this sort of thing is kind of a celebration and a tribute to use geeky Android fanboys/fangirls.

It appears that also that the original YouTube video showing the sculpture has been recently made private, but you can still get the idea from the image below. If you are in the Googleplex vicinity and you get some good pics of the Froyo sculpture send em’ in to us, ok? We want to see that tasty, frozen yogurt detail.
