The Kyocera Zio is certainly not the highest spec’d Android phone that is coming to market, but it still may have some potential. If nothing else, it could succeed, even just a little bit because of the price and carrier availability. Of course, nothing has been officially announced as of yet, however its expected to land with Cricket and carry an unsubsidized price of somewhere around $200. Assuming that is accurate, the Kyocera Zio may open up to a potential audience that once though Android phones were priced beyond what they can comfortably pay.
Anyway as of late, we have seen a few hands on videos beginning to surface. Two of which are coming courtesy of Engadget and MobileBurn. It is interesting to see how two people can think two different things. And not to give a spoiler, but Engadget seemed to be quite a bit less excited about the Zio.
