Google releases official Buzz widget for Android 1.6 and later

Google has once again expanded on their Android offerings, this time in the form of a widget for Google Buzz. And similar to many of the other Android apps coming from Google, the Buzz widget is available for those running OS 1.6 or later.

The widget is simple looking, but will allow you to post public or private messages to your Buzz account as well as post images from the camera or gallery. You can also choose to share your current location and access the Google Buzz website.

Those interested can find and install the widget in the Market by searching for “Google Buzz” and then once installed can add the widget by visiting Menu -> Add -> Widgets -> Google Buzz.

Personally I like Buzz, or at least the idea of Buzz but at the same time it has gotten very little use from me so far. I do think that given more mobile access, or better yet easier ways to access it from a mobile (like the widget) would give me the needed encouragement. Now if only I was not still running 1.5, stupid Eris.

And just in case you are not as familiar with Google Buzz, here is a video that was released when it first came available explaining it.
