Touiteur will eventually be the Best Android Twitter App (Exclusive video preview)

Touiteur will eventually be the best android Twitter app. Its early to heap such praise on a brand new app, but every bit of it is warranted. Touiteur is better looking than Seesmic, has multiple accounts like Tweetcaster, and packs enough features to be the best app to rival Twidroid. Many Twitter Android apps have tried to take Twidroid’s crown; Touiteur may actually pull it off.
The only reason Touiteur is not the best yet is because this is the first edition of the app. There are a few small bugs and areas for improvement, but that list is small. Touiteur puts the best of Twitter into a captivating package that performs well and looks even better. After a few weeks of the developer fine-tuning bugs and making improvements, don’t be surprised if the word “eventually” gets removed from this title. Here’s a video preview and a screenshot gallery of Touiteur.
Touiteur is set for release on or after February 16. Stay tuned for more information at LevelUpStudio.com

Excellent review! I'm definitely intrigued by this app's promise, especially seeing Level Up's other work (especially Beautiful Widgets.
Wow. I have been such a huge proponent of Twidroid but this is seriously looking amazing. Thanks for the preview. Any word on pricing?
There will be a free version and a Pro version, but LevelUp didnt give me a confirmed price. Be sure to follow Twitter.com/LevelUpStudio and LevelUpStudio.com to find out when its live. I'm GUESSING it wouldn't cost more than $5 in order to be competitive with Twidroid Pro.
Can you do a test for me as I like swift as it's the only app that when you tweet and upload to twit pic it will also take the test and upload it with the pic. Seesmic and others don't do it. I would use twitroid but it doesn't do it. This app looks nice but I'll have to wait and see if this app grabs the text for pics like swift does.
Looks nice, but I’m not convinced its better than seesmic, which I think tops twitdroid since it added multiple accounts.
You should take a look at Twicca. It has most if not all of the features you're already talking about here, PLUS it has one of my favorite features: highlighting tweets by user. So, you can set certain users' posts to be highlighted in certain colors, making it easy to scroll through your recent tweets and find people of interest.
At about 6:50 in the video he demonstrates highlighting per user. Not sure if you want to call it highlighting, but i think different colors for important tweets is a better idea.
The one thing I keep looking for in a twitter app is the basic tweetie functionality I had on my ipod touch: threaded replies. Does this do that?
Recent versions of Twidroid can display threaded replies. You just tap a particular tweet and, if it was in response to another, you'll be given the "show conversation" option. It will then display the entire thread.
What does it do that Twicca doesn't? The only option I noticed was the ability to add color to specific accounts. I've tried them all, including Seesmic and Twidroid and they're basically all the same, so to say this one will blow the others away sounds like hype to me. Did you get paid for this?
for one, it supports multiple accounts and looks better than Twicca. I have better things to do than ask indie developers to "pay" me for endorsing their apps.
you just got pwned
I can't for the life of me figure out how to edit my own profile or view the people that I'm already following.
Looks pretty cool, but for my purposes, I really like twicca the best. It's so fast and clean.
I really like the way the tap bring up the menu, instead of requiring a long click.
My recent post Todo Q v1.0.11 for Android has traffic & maps
What is this for Widget/App do you use to launch Touiteur?
It comes with Touiteur Pro. You have to purchase the upgrade to use it.
No, i mean the widged/app in the beginning of the video, you tap it an some applicationicons popup.
i am happy touiteur pro user
(and Twidroid for identi.ca, i wish touiteur will support it one day, it use a twitter compatible api.. *dreaming*)
Frankly, I don’t see the value of twitter. I read one market research report that revealed that nearly half of all tweets was “pointless babble.” Only 9% had “pass-along value.” Perhaps only 4% was “news.” Okay, I’m a senior citizen, but I get Instant Messaging. I get MySpace, FaceBook and Friendster. Heck, I even get an occasional rap song, if the beat and melody are just right. But this SMS for the internet seems a bit too thinly clever — a bit too much fad and flash in the pan, for my tastes. Maybe there’s a Zen side to this. Anyone care to Enlighten me?
Salut ça va
