Google announces Google Buzz, new Gmail and Twitter-like mash-up
February 9, 2010 | by Andrew Kameka
Google today announced Google Buzz, a new service that combines Gmail with new social features like status updates and link sharing. Adding a new layer of interaction between contact, Buzz brings user-shared photos, videos, and thoughts to the same place you send and receive email messages.
Google also premiered Buzz for mobile, the web app for smartphone users interested in sharing content and status updates. The web app also localizes to attach tags to a post and read what others have to say about that location. It has elements of Foursquare, Gowalla, and Facebook/Twitter.
There’s also Google Maps for Mobile, which adds a layer of buzz updates over map and a Voice Shortcut that allows users to update buzz simply by saying “post buzz.” Here’s the usual Google product video demo goodness. To see Google Buzz up close, visit Buzz.Google.Com

I'm thinking that this will be just as huge a success as Google Wave.
the buzz.google.com only works on android 2.0….sorry early adopters, first crappy plans for the nexus one and now this crap, thanks for nothing Google
