What do you think of the Android Developers Challenge Winners?

Google Android
The Android Developers Challenge concluded yesterday and the winners of the cash prize and instant name recognition that come with it have been announced. Are you impressed or disappointed?
When the winners were announced yesterday, I was rather surprised. Some of the winners seemed like obvious choices, but other apps I never noticed claimed the top prize in their category. I even tweeted “Wow. Really surprised by the winners of the ADC2,” and got a similar response from several of our followers.
Reading descriptions on some winners left me further confused. There are already apps that provide the same functionality for several months now and are arguably better. Meanwhile, the basis of some apps just didn’t appeal to me at all. I’m going through the Market now trying to find some of the apps to test for myself and see what got everyone else excited. Not all of the apps are available for download in the Market, but take a look at the ADC2 Winners and tell us what you think.

The biggest problem I've found is that most of them aren't even available. You'd think that they'd at least have tried to get a beta up on the market today, to take advantage of all the free publicity.
Mostly OT, but my pet peeve continues to be that Android Market has no web interface I can use from “real” computers. I’m sure they want to control what apps are presented to which phones/telcos. But the small screen, slow download/rendering of content, combined with (amazingly for something google associated) bad search capability and presentation, make only having the android market app very annoying (to me…)
why is everything about the google/android interface so FUG? the android market website-lite, and this awards page look like they were made for third graders by third graders. seriously, i love my little hero and think android is pretty cutting edge stuff, but i'm embarrassed by how rudimentary everything surrounding it is. i feel like i just joined aol. ugh.
I too was surprised… a number of the winners never even showed up on my ADC2 list. All I can figure is that if I selected 'not y cup of tea' it ignored the entire family in the competition. I don't mean to take anything away from the developers, but Google needs to work a bit harder when they announce ADC3
" but my pet peeve continues to be that Android Market has no web interface I can use from "real" computers" Simply go to androlib.com and when you find an app you like scan the barcodewith bardcode scanner on your droid and it will take you to the app store.
I said Droid but it works with any android phone.
