Rip and convert DVD’s for Android devices with DVD Ripper Platinum

The Motorola Droid has a large and pretty screen that’s good for watching videos on the phone. And while other Android phones like the Behold II or Tattoo aren’t as big, they too can take advantage of Wondershare DVD Ripper Platinum ($39.99 USD). PC owners can use DVD Ripper to rip and convert their DVD’s into formats compatible with their phone. The converted files are optimized for each phone, so video made for a Tattoo will be different from video made for a G1.
DVD Ripper also edits video, so if you just want a segment of a film/television show DVD, use the timecodes to clip only that portion. I’ve recommended VLC as a way to record or edit DVD’s, but ripping is easier to use because it does not require real-time recording. It took me slightly more than an hour to convert more than 3-hours of video and compress it into strong quality .
Other key features include:
- Ability to rip protected or Content Scrambling System DVD’s
- Convert into various formats, including ripping audio tracks to MP3 and MP4A
- Trim video or audio, merge and split DVD chapters
- Capture freeze frames from movies
- Real-time preview prior to conversion

Thanks, I'll have to give it a shot. Video quality is just horrid on my Hero though IMO. Hopefully Wondershare can give it a boost
Why bother? Handbrake is free and does the job nicely.
+1. HandBrake is awesome. Free tools to convert DVDs to other formats have come a looong way. HandBrake is literally just 2 or 3 clicks. The iPod/iPhone profile works well for my MyTouch. I just have to remember to give them an MP4 extension. If they have an M4V extension the phone doesn't list the videos in the gallery.
HandBrake is good, but it dose not allow me to convert AVCHD video and the CSS protected DVDS, also it dose not offer the options to edit video. But this Converter offered can do these things. That's great!
Some really good information here. I’ve bookmarked it for the next time i need to do this
Wow, that's really interesting. There are so many features of the new Android phones, as well as impressive shipments and good reviews, that I hope they live up to their expectations! Rachel
