Although I use the HTC Hero, I do not regularly use Windows, nor do I sync my Hero with my computer. But just in case you fall into the ‘I use an Android-based HTC phone and want to sync my device with Windows category” then listen up.
HTC has recently released an updated version of HTC Sync. Which for those unfamiliar, Sync will allow you to sync your phone with your Windows based PC. The new version is v 2.0.8 and can be found here: http://www.htc.com/.
According to the description:
“This update for HTC Sync provides more connectivity between your HTC Phone and PC. Still providing synchronization between your Outlook and your HTC Phone, we’ve added in media enhancements, syncing your contacts pictures along with their contact information.”
But as I mentioned I do not sync with a PC, so I cannot test this one out personally.

You can test it, but you just don't want to – that's what you meant to say, lol!
Good point, but honestly even if it were a Mac version I am not sure I would want or need it.
Does this work with Win 7? They said an update was coming for it, wonder if this is it..
It runs on my Win 7 Pro x64 just fine
I don't use that either. Who does? What I really want is an update to Android 2.0. Come on HTC, hurry up!
What they need to do (to dent the iphone user base) is make a Mac version. Not being able to sync quickly and easily as the iphone (and the total inability to play movies in a format that is usable elsewhere) are the main reasons why I have 2 devices (iPhone and Android)
Using HTC Hero. PC with Win 7 Business – 32bit. Installed HTC 2.0.8. Tried every possible method – it says phone is disconnected. Searched on google for discussions and advises. Nothing has worked so far.
